Sonys PlayStation VR is designed to be fully functional with the original PlayStation 4 console, and is able to access several of the games as well. The VR was launched on October 13, but did not begin to sell until the month of February with over 900,000 consoles sold. When retailing began, Sony set a goal to sell over a million PlayStation VR consoles within the next six months, and the rising popularity has had a shocking effect on the company.

Due to a leaked video of the German Shepherd, Hercules, struggling to comply with his trainer, the A Dogs Purpose premiere will be cancelled. Although, the film will still air nationwide on January 2017- as planned. The company regarded on the day the clip was exposed online, “there were several days of rehearsal of the water scenes to ensure Hercules was comfortable with all of the stunts-on the day of the shoot, Hercules did not want to perform the stunt portrayed on the tape so the Amblin production team did not proceed with filming that shot.”

The U.S. Army is funding research for a nasal spray that may possibly prevent suicide. Dr. Michael Kubek from the Indiana Medical Institute and his team have found that TRH can be released into the human brain more effectively through a spray, in comparison to injections or pills. Dr. Ken Duckworth, medical director for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, shares, the phase directly after starting an antidepressant is a very vulnerable time frame in a patients life; the nasal spray would stabilize them right away, while they wait for the [antidepressants] to do their job.

With artificial intelligence, Cozmo is able to distinguish the users personality and will refelect it on his own through a variety of emotions ranging from happiness, anger, excitement, and frustration. As of today, he is available for shipping at $180 in the US; shipments to other countries will be evaluated in the upcoming year.

The Don Antonio Lugo Drumline is preparing for their upcoming Winterline performances, titled, Red. This debut is a dark twist on The Little Red Riding Hood. The show consists of Chapters, much like a story book and the Drumline Instructional Team is currently in the process of creating the choreography and music for the pieces.

A Christmas Scarol was another hit performance by the Don Antonio Lugo Theater department. With a mixed Christmas and post-Halloween ambiance, the show made way for a real twist on the original A Christmas Carol. Although the performers only had two weeks to prepare, the show was, nonetheless, a success and the DAL student body are anticipating for more.

Kickstarter has recently funded Flexo, an invention much like Legos, but with a bit of a twist. Building bricks that feature flexible joints allow Flexos to bend and adhere to many shapes that classic building bricks could not. Flexo bricks open up new possibilities for creation and potentially serve as material for pseudo models and prototypes for aspiring engineers.

The Don Antonio Lugo Marching Band has been invited to represent California during the Pearl Harbor Memorial Day Parade in Honolulu. Band teacher, Mr. Yanik, poses with the invitation presented by the parade committee. The band will be staying in Hawaii for a week as the parade will be hosted on December 7, 2017.

Using terahertz radiation, the pages of these fragile documents will not have to be destroyed. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, (NAMI), approximately 43.8 million adults experience mental illnesses in a given year. Veterans are given the chance to re-live past traumatic experiences to make them at ease with their fears. Currently, this treatment is being studied by other VRT experts, to find a cure for other illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and psychosis.
