Shots were fired after a dispute between two male adults at the local Montclair Plaza Mall. No deaths were reported, but the male targeted was reportedly hospitalized with non life threatening injuries. An unknown number of shots were fired but no one else was harmed.

The occurrence took place late Saturday Morning at about 12:00 noon. What started as an argument in the parking lot later escalated into a brawl inside of the mall ending in a shooting. The African-American suspect fled the scene in a White Silverado and is yet to be captured.

The mall continued its services regularly and no other civilians were harmed. Don Lugo sophomore Ashley Figueroa happened to be in the mall during the time and expressed, “I was on the other side of the mall, but I heard people making a ruckus which gave me worry.” The frequency of shootings nearby continue to increase, which gives us the reminder to be cautious and safe.
