Chino opened it’s first ever all-genre music venue on March 11.

The genre variety of the new music venue, The Legacy Room, was present during the opening night when various local “SKA” bands were featured. While the reggae form of punk rock has grown popular over the years from bands such as Reel Big Fish and Operation Ivy, it was still a shock to see it during the venue’s big night.

Sophomore Ian Contreras said, “The venue is really nice inside. I love the fact that Chino opened a venue.” Having The Legacy Room in Chino will be beneficial to fellow music lovers because it’s so close to home, especially when groups on campus are used to traveling to see the local artists they love. The Legacy Room  is located where Prehistoric Pets used to be, meaning they finally don’t have to make the trip to Downtown Pomona or Los Angeles to catch their favorite artists live.

This new addition to the city will help put Chino on the map by attracting concert lovers from all around the Inland Empire. in addition, The Legacy Room will also help local artists in Chino to have a home venue, similar to those in surrounding cities.

It should be interesting to see who they book in the upcoming months.
