Opening night for the Don Lugo Theatre department on, Thursday April 7 was an exciting night for many because we haven’t seen musical theatre in awhile. I was looking forward to the evening.

This particular theatre production, “Your’e a Good Man, Charlie Brown” was a twist on the original “Peanuts” cartoon.  I enjoyed the music and comedy.  As a musical usually goes, it’s all dancing and singing, but this musical also had comedic skits, which made the audience twist and turn in laughter.

The cast includes Raymundo Rodriguez, Isaiah Ruiz,  Kyle Siefert, Krysta Tiuett, Audrey Nuñez, Daisy Gulla and Julianna Turner. They wore “Peanut” character costumes that were very similar to the original. All of the performers gave it their all in this production, and the support they had for one another truly showed on stage.

CVUSD board members were also present at the production. President Andrew Cruz and member Mr. James Na were fully engaged in the hilarious musical. Mr.Na said, “The play was better than Disneyland.” Over all, the musical had plenty of positive feedback and left everyone waiting for another production; including me.
