Sony's PlayStation VR is designed to be fully functional with the original PlayStation 4 console, and is able to access several of the games as well. The VR was launched on October 13, but did not begin to sell until the month of February with over 900,000 consoles sold. When retailing began, Sony set a goal to sell over a million PlayStation VR consoles within the next six months, and the rising popularity has had a shocking effect on the company.

La Land Land is the winner of 7 Golden Globes including the Best Motion Picture Musical/Comedy award. The screenplay writer and director Damien Chazelle created a film like no other and has the audience's eyes glued to the screen from the beginning, and all the way 'til the very end. Washington Post recalls that " the real star in "La la Land" is the movie itself, which pulses and glows like a living thing in its own right."

Tupac Shakur is now a nominee to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Tupac left a mark on the entertainment industry and Lugo students are excited for his nomination because of that. All 2017 inductees will be announced in late December.

Disney is setting up for a comeback. Raven-Symone is coming back to Disney Channel to film a currently nameless "That's So Raven" spin-off sequel. The show is currently casting for roles, without a word of which characters from the original series will be returning.

Moana has truly surprised Disney by bringing in $28.3 million and setting a new record for Disney movies. "Everyone should go see it, it's not just for kids, it's for all ages to enjoy," claims Crystal Tamayo. It's predicted for Moana to keep 1st at the box office as it approaches the third week.

The Don Antonio Lugo Drumline is preparing for their upcoming Winterline performances, titled, "Red." This debut is a dark twist on "The Little Red Riding Hood." The show consists of "Chapters," much like a story book and the Drumline Instructional Team is currently in the process of creating the choreography and music for the pieces.

Horses perform during the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games 2016 at the hippodrome of Cholpon-Ata. The games began on September 3, 2016 through September 8. These competitions were a medieval twist on regular Olympic games.
