Lights, Camera, Action: Homecoming

Guadalupe Garcia, Features Editor

Don Lugo students and parents were excited to attend the
35th Homecoming game. Many anticipated the announcement
of the 2014 homecoming queen, following “The after party”
homecoming dance on Saturday night.
The parade included our band and color guard, the
princesses’ for each class, the dance team, the
flockorico girls, and each class representing their
movie, for the homecoming theme: “Lights, camera,
action, the after party”. Last, but not least, the five
senior court members were accompanied by their
escorts.
Everyone was anxious waiting for the half time to
find out who the homecoming queen was. As
a senior, I was excited to attend my first homecoming
game and dance. It was exciting to see the
homecoming court all dressed up, waiting for one of
the five girls to be crowned.
During half time, the court members came down one
last time. The girls were escorted and
Priscilla Ochoa 15’ was crowned our 2014 Homecoming
queen by last years queen, Kailey Palazzolo.
Don Lugo ended up with the win, the final score
being 30-19.
The boys’ great win had Lugo
pumped up for homecoming Saturday night.
Walking in to my first and last homecoming dance,
I had no idea what to expect. I walked in the
dance floor accompanied by my date and flashed by the
paparazzi.
There was great music and a photo
booth! Everyone had a great time. From taking pictures
with the milk can to dancing the night away on
the floor. It couldn’t have been any better, homecoming
will be one of my best high school memories.
