The View will soon by saying “goodbye!” to co-hostess Raven-Symoné as Disney has invited the former star of “That’s So Raven” for a spin-off sequel and the Don Lugo crowd couldn’t be more excited. Student Body President, Luis Vazquez, shares, “I’m excited for the sequel because I grew up watching it; it was always relatable and really funny.” Disney’s Best Friends Whenever executive producers, Scott Thomas and Jed Elinoff, will be teaming up with Raven-Symoné to re-make the popular sitcom.
When “That’s So Raven” first premiered back in 2003, it was the highest-rated show among Disney Channel viewers and still continued to flourish to an average of 1.1 million viewers from re-runs a decade after it ended. Disney Channel’s Worldwide Executive VP of original programming, Adam Bonnett, regards, “Raven’s brilliant style of fearless comedy was a driving force for Disney Channel’s success around the world; her performance in ‘That’s So Raven’ is timeless. We now have our eyes on the future with her, and we’re looking forward to telling more stories for a new generation with an adult Raven Baxter raising her young family,” as she will be playing the role of a divorced mother of two pre-teens, one of whom inherits her psychic abilities.
According to a post on Entertainment Weekly, the show is currently casting for roles without news on which characters from the original series will be returning and without an approximate date for when the show will air- until then, the future holds on what’s in store for the Baxter family.
