Newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump has sent the U.S. Military to the southern border and assist border patrol agents. This comes after President Trump declared the cartels as terrorists organizations on first day as president through an executive order he issued. Trump has always critiqued the Biden Administration about his immigration enforcement. Trump claims, “it is necessary for the Armed Forces to take all appropriate action.” This follows after the cartels have been bringing drugs into the country illegally and the drug that has been making way is fentanyl and President Trump wants to stop the criminals from coming into the country and gangs like Tren De Agura which had taken over a apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado.
President Trump has deployed 1500 additional troops to provide support and combat the cartels from bringing drugs and criminals into the country. Additionally U.S. Marines have been seen at the southern border welding barbed wire in order to deter people from crossing into the country. The President Of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, has agreed to help prevent drugs and criminals going into the United States after President Trump threatened with tariffs that would raise the prices on items that come from Mexico into U.S. affecting the Mexican economy. Mexico would deploy 10,000 troops to the border to combat the drug and border issues. Ryan Orscoco, Senior stated “Kind of crazy too believe that the our military is at the U.S. border but that’s good they are assisting in protecting our country.” Additionally Jacob Orscoco stated, “Crazy that criminals are coming into the country I’m glad the military is keeping this country safe.”
