Don Lugo’s construction class visited The Carpenters Union 909 in a field trip. The many traits and skills you can earn working this field were talked about as well as about how the school runs. The Carpenters Union 909 is a trade school where you can learn how to weld and much more. At the union they talked about how their union works and talked about the benefits of working this field. While being at the carpenters union they showed us how a class is taught and talked about pay and how they set you up and get you started without you trying to find the job. Representatives from the union handed out a brochure that talked about what the carpenters union has built. They showed students a hall where they build structures and walls. On top of that they showed the welding room and showed the tool room which was filled to the brim with skill saws and lasers. To join the carpenters union you must be 17 and you do not need a high school diploma and they will provide the tools and will help you find a job once you are done with the school. The starting pay you will get when you go to that school they will pay you $20.15 as starting pay as for going to the school. They talked about what they have built like the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood,CA. This is not only union carpenters schools they all over the country such states as Utah, Nevada, Colorado and many more schools similar to the Carpenters Union 909.
