The seniors gather together as they go on a tour around city hall. “This was a great experience, it really changed my perspective on local government,” expresses Luz Moreno. Seniors got an opportunity of a life time and learned how to take on local government jobs.

Don Lugo Seniors participated in the annual, Student Government Day, where students worked active government jobs in the community. Participants took on jobs from all over the district and were assigned different roles throughout Chino and Chino Hills. From being a principal at an elementary school to being a city council member in city hall, the day was filled with unique experiences.

The seniors were highly encouraged to get involved and give back to their community. Some students got the opportunity to understand how a principal handles a school or how a city council meeting works. As Student Major of the Day, Ronaldo Lizarraga states, “It gave me some insight on what the city is responsible for as well as what a day at city hall is like.”
