Mobile game ‘Clash Royale’ has become an immensely popular app among Don Lugo students. Since its release back in early 2016, the game is continually growing as a fan favorite for a large variety of students. Clash Royale’s strategy-based game play combines the elements of card collecting, tower defense and live multi-player action to create an exciting form of entertainment.

Don Lugo senior, and avid ‘clasher,’ Alec Ortiz comments, “It is a dope game. It forces you to think creatively, sometimes you have bad cards and you have to work with what you got.” Other interviewed students agree that the adrenaline of having to think critically while making quick decisions may be what lead companies such as Apple and Game Informer to regard Clash Royale as the ‘Best Mobile Game of 2016.’

A group of students, including Ortiz and other friends, began plans to form a ‘Clash Royale Club’ on campus. Ortiz envisions a club in which “members join a mutual clan and help each other out reach the next arena in the game.” Final plans to gather the club together are expected in the coming weeks.
