Josh Ibarra commits to Concordia University
January 10, 2017
Josh Ibarra has accepted a baseball scholarship to Concordia University in Irvine, CA. He was scouted by the university through his travel-ball team, the Blue Jays. After sitting down with family and friends, Josh picked the school that will not only benefit his education but baseball career, as well.
Ibarra also received great offers from multiple schools, but ultimately decided on Concordia for the size of the campus, the programs offered, and the scholarship given to him. The Irvine based university gained interest in Josh after his travel ball coach suggested him to the school. Concordia coaching staff came out and watched several of Josh’s games which was enough for them to offer him a baseball scholarship.
Ibarra also spoke on his education, stating, “… it is very important to me, which is why I went with the choice I felt more comfortable with.” He plans to major in social studies with a minor in physical education to later become a teacher.
Josh would like to thank his family and friends for helping him make his decision. He would also like to thank his travel-ball coach for introducing him to Concordia’s coaching staff. Josh states, “I am excited for college baseball but even more excited for my last baseball season here at Don Lugo.”
