Girls’ water polo smashing season opener

Amber commented,” Its kind of like a different season from the last one but it’s more of getting use to it and being a team.” The Lady Q’s are very nervous and excited for this new season but are really working hard to make it to CIF.”

Don Lugo’s girls varsity water polo team opened their season on November 30th against Pomona Catholic, winning with a smashing score of  20-8. The Lady Q’s dominated throughout the game never giving up which created a large margin for the victory. With the team having several new players, they played exceptionally well together for their first game.

Top scorers of the game were Shannon Roacha with 8 goals, Amber Vigneault with 5 goals,  Brianna Thomas with 4 goals and Bailey Conrardy with 3 goals. Looking forward to their season, this game was a great indicator of their strength!

Shannon Roacha commented about their season saying,” I feel really good going into our season because we have the perfect girls, the perfect catching, the perfect skills and we are pretty much textbook quality.” Roacha went on to say,” My expectations are really high for this team because we are hoping that we can make it to CIF this year.”

Girls’ waterpolo will be competing in a season tournament this Saturday.
