ASB announces 2016 Homecoming theme
October 6, 2016
This year’s homecoming theme has finally been revealed to be, an Aladdin inspired, Arabian Nights. Being one of the biggest events of the school year, students have high expectations for what the night of the dance will have to offer. Thankfully, both ASB and Leadership teams have been working hard behind the scenes to take this year’s dance a step above past dances.
Students may expect a variety of forms of entertainment aside from the typical DJ and photo booth. It has been announced that an airbrush tattoo artist, caricature artist, and video game station will be present. Higher quality of entertainment consequently also means a higher fee for entry as ticket prices have increased $5.
“Although prices are higher this year, we think it will all be worth it,” expresses ASB President, Isaiah Ruiz. He continues, “The theme will be mainly channeled through the amazing decorations. People will hopefully feel like they are actually in Arabia.”
There is special excitement for this year’s dance as male students are now able to be part of the traditional ‘Homecoming Court.’ Don Lugo dancer, Carolyn Tellez states, “I think it is awesome how the guys are included in the homecoming court now. Now it is like a prom for the under classmen.” The winner for the title of “Homecomig Queen” will be announced on Friday the 14th, at the Homecoming football game. Assuming a number of football players will be part of the court, the winner for the title of “Homecoming King” will not be announced until the night of the dance.
