Top 5 cancerous foods
October 4, 2016
The FDA issued a PSA for 5 potentially cancer-causing children’s snacks. The 5 snacks are strawberry pop tarts, fruit snacks, M&M’s , Cheetos, and Teddy Grahams. All of these products contain petroleum based ingredients that can not only cause cancer, but hyper activity, serious health problems, and allergic reactions.
Alexis Yardley, Lugo student says, “This issue doesn’t help when we have 70% of these snacks at our very own vending machines.” Don Lugo students took a survey to see what they think about these 5 cancerous foods. 67 out of 100 students can say they have a least eaten 3/5th’s of those snacks on a daily basis.
Food coloring in snacks is just another one of the many sources to cancer. Red 3, a type of food coloring used in fruit flavored snacks, have a petroleum product that has been banned in cosmetics due to its connection with thyroid cancer. Nutrition expert David Wolfe states,” While the U.S. food and administration acknowledges that food dyes can impair the behavior of some children, it has done nothing to remove them from our food supply.”

Look. I’ve made 10 comments some good some bad, unless the comment are about dislikes on poptart it will get moderated, poptars are delicious and with the right exercise and diet you shouldn’t have to worry of the occasional treat that many people enjoy.

It’s scary that these snacks cause cancer yet they’re still in the school vending machines. I’m glad that I am aware of this.
