Hofstra University, in New York, hosted a steamy first Presidential Debate that had America glued to their television screens. Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton faced off in a hot blooded debate where tensions ran high and emotions ran even higher, leaving the race for presidency more cut-throat than ever. Throughout the debate both candidates expressed their platforms on the issues America is facing in todays world, but the highlight of the night included the personal jabs that the candidates threw at each other that left for an informative and no doubt very entertaining First Presidential Debate.

Throughout the race for presidency, the world has been able to witness the very strong personalities of presidential candidates: Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. The personal, verbal attacks that the candidates unleashed on each other Monday night weren’t a shock to many, in fact it was expected of them. Lugo’s students also had their own opinions when it came to the Monday night debate. “I was intrigued by the bitterness coming from both candidates” expressed student Hugo Lizardi.

Many people are having a rough time when it comes to choosing who they want to be the next president. So when debates turn out like this one it seems to be making it even harder to make the choice. There is just a little bit over a month until it’s election day and the candidates have 2 more debates left to prove to America who should be the next president of the United States.
