Don Lugo wins the first annual “Queens Of The Court” Volleyball game against Chino High School. The competition was tough for Lugo going 5 sets against Chino with close scores of 18-25,25-15,25-20,21-25, 15-4, but the conquistadores were able to lasso the cowboys once again. Tylia Dixon finished the night’s game with 15 kills and 15 digs with the help of  Setter Lauren McCamish who had 28 assists.

The Lady Q’s went in underestimating Chino High’s Volleyball team before they soon “realized this wasn’t going to be an ordinary game,” stated Tylia Dixon, the current captain of the team. This rivalry game between Don Lugo and Chino High School happens annually, but this year the game had been advertised more than usual by Chino’s Volleyball Team. E-mails between both teams’ coaches were exchanged with word of a trophy that was being purchased by Chino as well as pom poms being given to the first 100 students in attendance of the game.

The scores might have come close, but Lugo was ultimately able to bring home the trophy. “Hard work pays off and hopefully we can bring it back next year as well,” exclaimed Angel Monroe as she admired the trophy in her hand.
