PlayStation’s online playing subscriptions, PlayStation Plus, will see a price increase, Sony has confirmed in August.

PlayStation Plus memberships will cost more. A one-year membership in the US will rise from $50 to $60, while three-month memberships will rise from $18 to $25. Existing members will not have to pay the increased amount until their plans renew on or after September 22nd. Although the new PlayStation Plus prices take effect on Sept. 22nd, users can “delay” the price increase by purchasing memberships before they rise.

The PlayStation Plus price increase will only affect players in the United States and Canada. It’s currently unknown whether the PlayStation Plus membership will increase in the UK and Europe because of their price increase of last year this month.

Further information will be announced in the PlayStation event on September at the PlayStation Theatre at New York by Sony.
