City of Los Angeles Announces Official “Mamba Day”

The Los Angeles Daily News reports that the LA City Council has declared Aug. 24, 2016 Mamba Day as a way of honoring retired Laker Kobe Bryant. Get it? 24? Kobe’s number after 10 seasons and when he retired, and 8, which is the number he wore for his first 10 seasons. Laker fans, along with the City of Los Angeles, are happy to celebrate Bryant’s 20 years with the Lakers.
