The seniors exceeded expectations with a stellar performance during the class dance competition. Unfortunately for the seniors, class of 2017 ended up winning the competition, but that didn’t take away from the seniors having a great time during their last rally. Photo courtesy of Johhny Robledo

Don Lugo had its last rally of the 2015-16 school year saying farewell to class of 2016. The seniors had the opportunity to enter the rally through the Don Lugo tunnel and were released early from the festivities. They were given a proper send off by being congratulated on the achievement of graduating.

Last Friday’s High School Musical themed event was hosted by two seniors, Armando Serrano and Frank Jeong who, although were a bit frustrated due to the technical difficulties they endured, still enjoyed being the emcees for what would be their first and last time hosting. Armando shared, “Even though I was really nervous at first, being able to host a rally my very last year of high school was an awesome experience.”

During the occasion, the school announced Evelyn Guerra and Meghna Patel as the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the senior class. The top 10 percent of students from every class were also rewarded with certificates for their hard work and dedication. Along with all the recognitions, the Quest News staff was surprised with the announcement of a 1500 dollar grant.

The highlight of the rally was the class dance competition between the juniors and seniors. Practices were held throughout the week led by Jericho Tiojanco for the seniors along with Elisa Lo and Kashifa Choudry for the juniors. Class of 2017 came out victorious after a close battle between the two.

Having to say our final goodbyes to the seniors is never easy, but being able to share this final rally made it even more memorable. The stage has been set and big shoes have been left to fill for next year’s rally committee.
