Don Lugo Track and Field Sprint to CIF

Don Lugo’s track team sprinted their way into finals at Alta Loma Highschool to determine eligibility for CIF. The track stars placed in Long Jump, Triple Jump, 800 Meter Sprint, and Pole Vault. Devin Collins placed 1st in Triple Jump at a distance of 42’9 1/2  ,along side his team mate, Kristin Breaux, who took 2nd in the same event. Brianna Cabrera brought the Conquistadores another 1st place in Pole Vault with a height of 8’6 and Sprinter, Rione Villanueva, took 3rd place in the 800 Meter Sprint at 2 minutes and 3 seconds.

The team’s first round of CIF for Division 3 will take place at Estancia High School in Costa Mesa this saturday, May,14. When asked about what he is  expecting going into CIF, Devin Collins had to say, “I don’t expect anything going into CIF, I’m just hoping that whatever comes to me, comes to me in a good way.”
