The local Chino Costco on Peyton Drive was effected by a national recall of frozen food products manufactured by CRF Frozen Foods. The recall began in Canada and eventually found its way to U.S. retailers. According to a Costco manager, “All of the product has been removed from the shelves and any customer that comes back with that product will be fully refunded.”

A voluntary recall of CRF Frozen Food products, due to Listeria concerns, has found its way to the Costco in Chino. What began as a concern of contamination by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in Canada, finally reached U.S. retailers on May 11.

In a recent report by Fortune.com, “CRF Frozen Food distributed 358 frozen fruit and vegetables under 42 different brands to Costco, Trader Joe’s, [and] Safeway.”

CRF Frozen Foods of Pasco, Washington released a press release to the Chino Costco notifying them of the voluntary recall of fifteen frozen vegetable items with expiration dates ranging from February 10, 2017 to March 16, 2018. The products of concern have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

No illness has been reported, and according to a manager at the Chino Costco on Peyton Drive, “All of the product has been removed from the shelves and any customer that comes back with that product will be fully refunded.”
