Rivalry Hits the Field

Even with the tension that comes with the big rivalry game there are still friendships that lay between the two teams. Here is Don Lugo forward Tony Villegas snapping a picture with two players from the Chino Cowboys.

The Don Lugo Conquistadores varsity soccer team lost Thursday’s home non-conference game against rival school Chino by a score of 1-0. Chino’s lone score was a free kick which came off of a penalty committed by defender, Danny Bonsangue. Coach Hector shared, “It was a disappointing defeat but we can only learn from this loss.”

Looking forward coach then said that, “We will work on our mistakes and give it our all next game.” The Don Lugo soccer team currently has a record of 3-1 in their preseason. Their next game is on December 21st, where they will face off against Ayala high school.
