After a successful marching season, the Lugo band director, Mr. Yanik, has some new things in mind for the hard working band.
Ever since the optimistic Mr. Yanik took over band, there have been new and exciting events that have taken place. Mr. Yanik made this year’s marching season one of the best Lugo has had so far. “We totally exceeded everybody’s expectations in a good way and it was exciting to see the look on everyone’s faces…it was very emotional,”expressed a proud Mr. Yanik.
This year, Yanik is bringing back the winter drumline program. It’ll be the first time in years that Don Lugo has had this program and Yanik has great plans for them as well. Winter drumline will participate in various competitions, such as the American Drumline Association competition that will take place in February and April.
To go along with all the new things this year has brought for our band, they will be updating their look. Mr. Yanik put the rumors to sleep and confirmed that the band will most certainly have new uniforms. In search of a modernized look, the uniforms will be black and gold. “The new uniforms will give us an updated modernized look.” concluded Mr. Yanik.
