On December 2 at 11am multiple shooters attacked the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino. This facility helps Don Lugo students with developmental disabilities. There are currently atleast 14 dead, 14 injured, and no known motive has been found, as reported by USA Today.

According to Fox News, an unknown number of shooters were wearing tactical gear and fled the scene. Police are currently searching the local area and have detained one of the shooters. Those in the center were on lock down due to possible bomb threats, but police have rendered one possible explosive as inactive and are currently searching for more.

The injured are being treated at the scene and being moved to Rudy C. Hernandez Center, Loma Linda, and other various hospitals for further medical treatment. Reddit user themuleskinner, who posts police scanner information, reports that civilians are being moved to National Orange Show Events Center until all threats have been assessed.

A majority of the Don Lugo Adult Transition students meet with caseworkers from the Inland Regional Center on a regular basis and have contact with them even outside of campus, said Mrs. Cuadras. These caseworkers come in and help the students improve their social and learning skills, making them a big part of the students’ transition process.

Citizens of San Bernardino and the surrounding areas are advised to keep updated with local media outlets as more information surfaces. #SanBernardino, trending on Twitter, provides real-time updates.
