The voting for class officers is approaching as students are preparing to put their campaign posters up. Although students usually don’t pay attention to the candidates on the ballot , the class president is the candidate they should be wise on. Campaign posters for each candidate are supposed to be done on Wednesday March 11.

Class officers make the posters to persuade students around the school to hopefully vote for them. The posters need to be creative and neatly made. Many of students, however, don’t seem to show much interest in the high school “election.”

Students seem to overestimate the challenge and tasks for becoming a class officer. First off you need to be liked enough in order for students to even recognize you, but even it goes as far as knowing people around campus. You need to be alert and practically be the voice of your class.

From fundraisers to legacy projects, each class officer has a lot to do and a lot to keep in mind. Stephen Cabrera, a candidate running for Vice President, has been questioned on the challenges he has faced, “I believe the biggest challenge i faced was getting enough publicity to get my name out there.” He will be representing the class of 2021 if he wins.

Each class officer have their own plans on what they want to implement to the school to make a better learning environment for their classes and the rest of the school.

Another question asked to Stephen is what does he look to improve, he replied with “I look to improve the school spirit because as of right now it is kind of flat. The class of 2021 should be more hyped next year when it comes to events.” Stephen plans to make it better by advertising it a lot more then it is being advertised this year.

The voting for the class officers will be on monday March 16. The voting is on an online ballot on the Don Lugo website. This day will allow students to get ballots of all the candidates for each office and will only be able to select one person from each category. Once all the ballots get collected the votes will be added up. The winners will be announced on the Don Lugo website on Thursday, March 19th at 4 pm.
