The city of Chino is in the process of becoming a more lively environment with the small venue, The Legacy Room. The concert venue is quickly becoming highly recommended and popular among local music-lovers according to many of the audience members that have attended the many events that have been hosted. New local artists are also being given the opportunity to shine as they are allowed to share their original and unique music.

The Legacy Room happens to be a family-run business that is located at 5536 Philadelphia Street — a neighbor to the long-standing Movies 8 theater. In March of 2016, the venue opened up to the public and began to host small shows. The goal of this rendezvous is to get the young demographic in the community to participate in a safe and clean atmosphere.

Expression and creativity shine brightly in the Legacy Room throughout the audience and the performers during their nightly shows. With no other popular venues around Chino, the Legacy Room allows for people to listen to live music without having to take a trip or an elongated drive. The forum also brings a friendly environment for the individuals who take part in the variety of shows, allowing the interactions between new people who enjoy the same type of music.

Nyah, an employee at the venue, stated: “I think and hope Legacy helps artists express themselves, whether [they are] performers or an audience member.” The audience members have extremely positive reviews and reactions based on the incredible experiences the Legacy Room has to offer. With the welcoming reviews, the attraction grows exponentially for young adults in the area.

Many people from Don Lugo are attending Legacy, either as artists or audience members simply because they get to be with their friends and enjoy the experience. Students such as solo musician Valeria Acevedo and Hexed band members Ian Contreras (guitar) and Mike Hopkins (drums), a Don Lugo Alumni, show the vast amount of talent that is coming out of Lugo. The ever-growing culture of music and art is without a doubt spreading through the school halls, leading its way into the nightlife of the venue where they are able to share the spotlight.

The venue’s dedicated group of college employees and high school volunteers will continue to share their love for music and unconditional support to many upcoming, local artists. The amount of true passion and hard work that bleeds through the strong foundation the Legacy Room has created only makes it possible for the local artists to be given a chance in becoming noticed in the industry they desire. When it comes to the astounding reactions the forum acquires, the Legacy Room has a bright future ahead of its self, starting its own legacy within the streets of Chino.
