ByFusion’s building blocks

ByFusion

Principal engineer and inventor Peter Lewis created the modular ByFusion machine that turns plastic waste into building resources. ByFusion’s team saw the growing issue of plastic building up in the environment, so they decided to put it to use by building structures and homes in places such as California and Hawaii. ByFusion states that “our world is drowning in plastic waste and we are passionately committed to finding a solution.”

Plastic waste is being re-purposed in the form of building materials to build houses. The company, ByFusion, sought a solution to the growing amount of plastic floating in the oceans and sitting in landfills. ByFusion’s principal engineer and inventor, Peter Lewis, created the machine that can solve the overage of useless plastic.

According to the World Economic Forum, “by 2050, plastic products could outnumber fish in our oceans.” ByFusion’s CEO Gregor Gomory wanted to prevent that prediction by giving the plastic a permanent use in a way that is not invasive to the environment. With ByFusion’s modular machine, any and all plastic can be reformed into houses and structures for any need, anywhere in the world.

ByFusion has already begun using the modular machine to build homes in Hawaii and walls in Santa Barbara, California. The ByFusion process is nearly 100% carbon neutral, non-toxic, and the plastic can be formed into nearly any shape to fit any need. Gomory asserts that “every year millions of tons of plastic ends up in the ocean and we have a technology platform that can process it in an environmentally-sensitive way and put it to use in local communities.”

The company passionately wants to help the environment around the Pacific ocean; they are working on enabling others to do the same by creating more ByFusion machines for purchase.
