Wednesday, April 13, was the day that Kobe Bryant took his final steps on the court of the Staples Center. After a legendary 20 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, it was time for him to say his goodbyes. It was an emotional night not only for basketball, but for sports as a whole.

With all the hype surrounding #24, the man of the hour did not disappoint. He lit up the Utah Jazz, scoring a season-high 60 points on 50 shot attempts! Bryant has undoubtably had a hall of fame worthy career, with 18 All star selections, an MVP award, 2x Finals MVP, and 5 NBA championships, and is listed as 3rd on the all-time scoring list ending with 33,464 points.

Fans on the internet “broke” twitter last night, both celebrities and die-hard Kobe fans showed their love by tweeting #MambaNight while watching the Laker’s say farewell to their beloved captain. Support came from the NBA all season as Kobe went on his farewell tour. After so many years of loving, and hating, the 37 year old shooting guard, it was finally time to say goodbye.
