Don Lugo Conquistadores come out on top against the Chaffey Tigers by defeating them 31-14 on Friday night. It was all outstanding performance from both sides of the field as the Conquistadores came out with the will and the determination to get the win.

The passing was at an elite level with Quarterback Dane Ford completing 17 of his 21 passes, tallying 273 yards and four touchdown passes. The receivers also had a big effect on the tempo of the game. Wide receiver Devin Collins had an exceptional game with two 50+ yard touchdown catches coming in both the second and the fourth quarters.

Even with the offense clicking the biggest factor was on the defensive end. Chaffey’s running back Mikey Dean is currently the leagues leader in rushing touchdowns, but Don Lugo’s defense only allowed him one touchdown in 39 carries. “Everybody balled out today”, said Lugo running back Khoury Bethley and that the “defense showed up…” when it counted the most. The Don Lugo Conquistadores will have this win under their belt as they try to even up their record against the Ontario Jaguars next week.
