Big things are happening in the world of Hip Hop this year; seven out of ten of Spotify’s most streamed albums are categorized under Hip Hop.

From new releases to collaborations and awards, Hip Hop revitalized the industry with bold moves that fly in the face of music today. With unique styles that have paved for new artists and the huge attention it’s been getting on social media, the number of fans has been rising in large numbers. This is definitely showing in their growing pay checks, being that Hip Hop artists are currently one of the highest paid musicians in the industry.

Three of 2015’s most streamed songs have also been rap including hit singles from Fetty Wap, Wiz Khalifa, and Drake.  The movement also has paved the way for people to experiment more with the genre like the creation of the movie “Straight Outta Compton, ” which made millions the very first night it premiered.

Several recent controversial feuds also attracted even more fans. From twitter beef to insulting new tracks, artists like Drake, Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj, and Lil’ Kim all managed to capture the attention of millions of people. In this manner, artists help keep hip hop relevant and extremely popular.
