Lugo students attend LDD Day

All four schools unite together as they close the day with a picture. “LDD motivated me to finish strong and make a difference, even if it’s a small one,” states ASB student, Alyssa Vanherwaarden. All four activities directors hope to continue this district tradition.

Don Lugo’s renaissance and leadership program headed to Ayala High School for the day to attend the “Leadership Development Day.” All four schools in CVUSD attended this annual event to make students better leaders. Brodie Kaster, a well known CASL speaker, was the 2017 host of Leadership Development Day.

“My goal today is to make these leaders have a better idea of what it really takes to be a good leader, I wanna show them that it’s not about the title, it’s about what they do with the title,” expresses CASL speaker, Brodie Kaster. The day was not just filled with activities, but with life lessons as well. Our leaders were also taught to be courageous and not to judge people by their covers.

Throughout the day, every leader was challenged to step out their comfort zone and show people who they truly are. “What I understood from LDD is getting to know a person’s story, know who they are, and base a opinion on what you see,” claims ASB President, Isaiah Ruiz. At the end of the day, the leaders had one thing in mind, to help improve Lugo in a positive way.
