Writer and director James DeMonaco comes back for his third installment of The Purge franchise. The first two films did very well in the box offices, bringing in $200 million worldwide. Both of these films combined cost $12 million to produce.

In this movie, politician Charlie Roan has a plan to finally end the annual purge once and for all. In order for her to continue to preach her message she must follow returning character Leo Barnes, played by actor Frank Grillo, so that she herself can survive the vicious purge. But the real the question with this movie will be: Can the government finally put the purge to an end?

Although the trailer is filled unending action and slight horror there are still many red flags at first sight. Most people watch this trailer and whisper to themselves, “Is this really necessary?” Once you see the first film and are familiar with the purpose, it really just becomes repetitive after that.

With a guaranteed profit, I can’t blame James DeMonaco and Universal pictures for wanting to take another whack at it. Remember, the purge is an annual event.
