David Bowie, also known as “Ziggy Stardust”, died January 10th in Manhattan, New York. Bowie forever changed music and will be missed in the music industry. “He inspired so many people he definitely left a legacy.” said Mr. Myers

On Sunday January 10, 2016 legendary 70’s icon, David Bowie lost his battle with Cancer.

After a long 18-month battle with cancer, unknown to the public until his death, David Bowie died peacefully surrounded by his family. The singer had just released his latest album, “Blackstar,” on January 9th, his 69th birthday. After being on hiatus, his album shot to No. 1 on the iTunes chart in the UK and No. 2 in the United States.“Ziggy Stardust” was a big influence to many modern day artists such as Lady Gaga, Kayne West, and Adam Lambert.

As many of the Lugo staff mourned his death, they remember this “Space Oddity” by reflecting back to the 70’s when they used to blast his catchy music. Mr. Robinson said, “I went to Bowie’s Concerts back then, after “Ziggy Stardust” I found out my former boss, Jorge Murphy, was the bassist of Bowie and I couldn’t believe it. He was a huge influence to others.” Bowie left a legacy and will remain one of the most highly inspirational people in the music industry.
