Our theatre department has taken a new turn under the direction of young Mrs. Herrera. A fresh, new, optimistic spirit seems to be what the Lugo arts needed. It is safe to say that Mrs. Herrera will strongly impact and change the performing arts for good.

Mrs. Herrera has different and exciting plans for our theatre department. She plans to engage her students into more modern plays that will actually appeal to the audience, thus having bigger audiences than last year, and the year before. Herrera’s debut play, Arsenic and Old Lace, made her modern style show through, gaining attention from the audience and cast.

“It went really well. We had packed houses on both Friday and Saturday night…it was a great feeling.”, mentioned a proud Mrs. Herrera. Clearly, she’s off to great start. Herrera’s bachelor’s degree in theatre and passion for her job have really shown through and that, as well as her hard work and dedication, will hopefully bring a newfound respect for the Don Lugo theatre community.
