People who listen to Pop Punk usually tend to fall under a certain stereotype. The stereo type includes things like wearing tye-dye clothing and authentic black vans shoes. They also are said to be obsessed with eating pizza.

There are so many genres in the music industry, some even unrecognized by the general public but to some it’s their favorite genre.
“Pop Punk” has been one of the most unrecognized genres in the music industry today. It’s a fusion music genre that combines elements of punk rock with pop music to varying degrees. Some people confuse the genre with fast tempo-punk or rock but its most certainly is not.
Bands such as Blink 182, Sum 41, and Green day are some of the most popular in this genre. Due to most of their success, there has been a higher demand for more bands in this genre. This is definitely showing in the top 100 charts in “Alternative.”
Also, Pop Punk has been dominating local concerts and festivals such as the famous, “Vans Warped Tour” with bands such as Neck Deep, The Wonder Years, and Knuckle Puck. Students have been enjoying this increase in these type of bands, like student Josh Plascencia 17′ who shares ,”I really enjoy Blink 182 I didn’t know they were in this genre its nice to know.” These bands have been a inspiration to many underground bands to continue the tradition of new catchy garage music.
As students enjoy the catchy, riffy new punk music , we will be seeing a increase of popularity future.
