The graduation countdown has begun!

Seniors everywhere have been busy planning for the future, taking note of the necessary tools that will facilitate their next steps. In response, an article by Bradenton Herald  lists some of the latest gadgets that would make a great graduation gift BUT what are the soon-to-be graduates at Lugo hoping for?

A Laptop

When asked what she would like to be gifted for graduation, senior Alyssa Fernandez quickly exclaimed, “A laptop!” For many Don Lugo graduates, college is the next step after high school, which makes it unsurprising that a laptop is the ideal gift for many. Students like Gabi Viera – who plans to attend school in Arizona later this year – claims, “Everyone needs a laptop especially since a lot of us are moving away from home, it is just super necessary.”

A New Smartphone

“I want and need a new cellphone because I have been using the same phone since like 8th grade,” reveals Kaylin Kelder, class of 2017 student. According to the Pew Research Center, 92% of high school students own a cell phone, making it no surprise that such devices are one of the most sought after graduation gifts by multiple students at Don Lugo.

The Samsung Galaxy S8, LG G6, and iPhone 7/7 Plus are among the top cell phone picks of 2017 by Time magazine. If you are looking to get a new smartphone for the graduate in your life, one these choices may be what you need.

A Camera

Making memories never stops, even after high school. Keeping that in mind, a number of seniors confessed that a new camera would be a unique gift; and not just digital cameras but Polaroid cameras as well. Senior Natalie De La Cruz admits, “I like [Polaroid cameras] because they are not just a regular camera or give you just a random picture on your phone.”

The sentimental value of a photograph is important for many people and the monetary value of a Polaroid may also convince you to get one for the graduate in your life. There are tons of options and choices at your local stores or online, for which you can click on the pictures below to begin your search for the perfect camera.

Other ideas brought forth by interviewed seniors included:

  • Apple Watch
  • Scientific calculator
  • Bluetooth portable speaker
  • Wireless headphones
  • Charging phone case
