To reinvent the traditional classroom whiteboard, Google is unveiling the cloud-connected digital Jamboard, which will allow a group of people to collaborate together in one organized space, no matter where they are in the world.

Jamboard is a 55-inch 4k display that will be able to show any picture or notes that a fellow collaborator would want to add onto the board. Any writing or sketching done on the Jamboard will automatically save onto the board which then enables each of the users to save on their Google Drive account by scanning their phones at the edge of the board. Jamboard includes three simple tools: a Draw stylus pen, a Move stylus pen and an eraser.

Jamboard is a highly mobile device that is capable to be moved between rooms and set up for any project through its intuitive plug and play design that requires it to be plugged into a power outlet. If Jamboards were implemented into average classrooms, it would innovate the way students can learn and collaborate together; Lugo English teacher, Mr. Crisafi, shares that he believes “it would be excellent for students to cooperate together and would give an great experience in sharing this device to all of the students in my class.” Jamboard is set to be released in 2017 at $6,000.
