After an energetic five game series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Washington Nationals, Don Lugo students will now be in full support for the “Boys In Blue” who came out victorious to advance to the National League Championship Series. This game was filled with shock as mid season trade accusation Rich Hill was going to start the crucial game five against former “Cy Young” winner Max Scherzer.

Hill exited the game in the third inning after having pitched a brutal 2.2 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 earned run, and administering six strikeouts. While his counterpart Scherzer departed the game after completing 6 modest innings in this decisive game 5. Entering the fifth inning was Dodger rookie 20 year-old Julio Urias who now holds the record for the youngest winning pitcher in a playoff game.

Despite a 7th inning that lasted over the one hour mark Dodger “Closer” Kenley Jansen entered the game in the 7th inning as the Dodger ace Clayton Kershaw volunteered after being on 2 days rest and have just thrown 110 pitches to shut the door on the Washington Nationals season. The Dodger begin the National League Championship Series with the Chicago Cubs on Saturday October 15th.
