Mrs. Rigo-Witt announced that there will be new cords and stoles available for students this year. Each cord and stole earned by the student will be given to them to wear during for graduation, each cord representing a particular achievement or program that the student has completed or participated in throughout their high school career. The goal of offering a variety of cords and stoles is to provide recognition to students for their hard work.

Some of the new cords include the teal cord for four years in Journalism, light blue cord for Interact Club, and black cord for Academic Decathlon. Clubs that have been on campus for a few years are now receiving cords. A senior on campus shared, “It’s actually great that new and different clubs are getting recognized more.”

Mrs. Rigo-Witt introduced the new cords to encourage students to become more involved in different activities and clubs on campus. She feels that offering this incentive to students will encourage them to participate with others and make the most out of their high school experience. “Our main goal is to recognize students for what they do throughout high school,” Mrs. Rigo-Witt expressed, “We also want to have clubs become more involved with the school.”

Keep an eye out for the new cords and stoles at the senior assembly and graduation!
